According to Vedere University, an academic appeal refers to a student’s request for a reassessment of an academic decision. This decision can be made by:
- A faculty member regarding assessment or the final grade of a course.
- The Assessment Board regarding academic progression or the conferment of a degree.
However, it is important to note that the Academic Appeals Policy cannot be utilized for the following purposes:
- Reviewing a decision made on a request for extenuating circumstances.
- Reviewing the outcome of a case involving academic misconduct or general misconduct.
- Reviewing a decision to withdraw, either due to tuition or a violation of the Enrollment Agreement.
- Additionally, an academic appeal cannot be used as a means to raise concerns or make a formal complaint about matters relating to a particular program.
